Has TDM a History?

The 1960's saw the origin of what was to become the Toroid International Group manufacturing and marketing world wide toroidal transformers based on a technology made commercially viable by the Swedish engineer Lennart Christoffersson (born 1933).

The Toroid International Group soon started to manufacture its own winding machines and related equipment. In the 1990's the production of toroidal transformers was moved to the Asian low cost theater and production facilities were established in Sri Lanka (1992) and India (1996). The experience of the engineering creativity and the abundance of skilled engineers in India made Toroid India the natural choice for the manufacture of machines and equipment. In 2004 all the technical know how related to the production of winding machines and equipment was transferred to Torotronic Ltd., Hong Kong

In 2005 the Toroid International Group was sold to a Norwegian company, Noratel AS, and the machine manufacturing section of
Toroid India was spun off into what was to become TDM.

TDM has since then been manufacturing and marketing Torotronic toroidal winding machines and related equipment with Noratel as one of its major customers. A fast increasing number of winding machines are sold to other Indian as well as European buyers.

The development of test and measuring equipment and a number of assignments related to inter alia motor and process control for prestigious customers have led TDM into the absorption of embedded systems technology. Owing to continuous development,  TDM has acquired a unique expertise in this area.
